Of Sickness and Democracy
Hello all! What's up with me? I thought you'd never ask!
So I had this great idea for a post about where I lived in Waterloo when I was younger, complete with pictures and everything on Thursday. I had to go to the bank that morning and it was right near my old neighbourhood so I walked through there and took some pictures of stuff. I won't get into it now because I could still probably do that post later. For now I'll just say I can still do the freaking monkey bars! (I rock)
Anyway I didn't post on Thursday because I was feeling sick, and stayed feeling sick until pretty much this morning. I figure it was from getting caught out in the rain on Tuesday and never really drying off. Luckily this left me with plenty of time for Civ, but I won't bore you all with the details.
My residence had our first meeting of the term yesterday night, it was a thrilling demonstration of democracy inaction. (That's right John Stewart, I stole your joke.) Actually the meeting seemed relatively useful, plus I saw Mukto from S2 there! That will mean absolutely nothing to anyone but Liam, so the rest of you can have fun trying to guess his ethnicity from his name. Mukto ended up being kind of a goof at the meeting (to use friendly terms) but I got elected as a board member intern! Hurray!
So what's a board member intern? Who cares? Now I don't have to do Co-op Work duties! Seriously though, it's a sweet postion. It looks great on a resume because it's an upper-management position, all I have to do is attend 3 meetings I would have had to go to anyway plus I get a free breakfast and lunch at said meetings. (They're on a Saturday.) The "intern" part of my title means that I'm a non-voting member so I don't have to make any tough decisions and I believe there's a fully subsidised trip to Michigan in October at some point. I'll have to get back to you all on that.
So I haven't gotten out of duties entirely, I'll still have some floor duties to do but I think I did pretty well for myself. I might actually learn stuff and try running for a more "real" position some time in the future if I like it. I probably complained to a couple of my readers about how small my room is but I know there's some pretty sweet-ass rooms available that I should have a shot at once I have some more seniority.
Oh, and in response to Caleb I figured everybody would be able to find my blog from Liam's blog since he seems to be the best link-keeper. Also I believe I don't care if the template sucks, I'm not changing it unless I really start using this a lot.
I just realized that this post isn't funny at all, so I'll do better next time. Please put any rocks you were going to throw back in the designated "not funny" bin and apply for your refund at the front desk.
Now if you'll excuse me Strong Bad has a new email up today.

You clearly use the best template known to man. pfft.
